Diagnostic Accountant
What you must have
- ICASL Member or Passed Finalist (with at least a B grade pass in Accounting and Audit subjects) status
- At least three years of relevant experience
- Be fully conversant with a very good understanding of IFRS and US GAAP
- Flawless communication skills in written and spoken English
- Excellent knowledge of advanced MS Excel and MS Word
- Good analytical and number crunching skills and conceptual thinking
- The ability to work independently under minimum supervision and be a team player
- Absolute attention to detail and willing to work according to tight deadlines which may involve longer hours
What you will do with us
- Study annual reports and other publicly available information on companies, and identify any material issues/concerns and deviations from relevant local and international accounting standards
- Identify instances where financial statements do not record the economic substance of a transaction, or where the accounting is inaccurate, or where the accounting treatment may be misused to change the outlook of results
- Study the companies’ corporate governance practices and compare these with accepted practices
- Perform competitor analyses
- Input historical annual report information to an Excel spreadsheet and perform analyses (analytical review procedures) to identify issues in the financial statements
- Interpret the issues identified as to their impact on company’s earnings and value
- Write concise reports on findings and conclusions
