Brad West

Co-Founder and Managing Director


Brad is a Co-founder and Managing Director and oversees research delivery and analyst training at Amba Research. He also is responsible for the firm’s investor relations. Clients benefit from Brad’s 22 years of managerial and team-building expertise which includes private equity investment, strategy consulting, and almost 10 years in the investment research industry.

Before co-founding Amba Research, Brad was an MD at Deutsche Bank and Head of Global Emerging Markets Equity Research. From 1992-1999, he held a succession of senior sell-side jobs. In his role as MD and Head of Global Emerging Markets Equity Research, Brad was responsible for 125 analysts in six regions worldwide. Prior to this, Brad held a variety of other senior positions within Deutsche Bank including Head of Asia Equity Research, Asia Micro Strategist and Head of Singapore/ Malaysia Equities.

In the early 1990s, Brad worked for over three years at CLSA where he started the Malaysia office and then later built a leading Asia institutional equity research capability out of Hong Kong. At both CLSA and Deutsche Bank, Brad took the lead role in codifying industry best practices and delivering analyst training.

Earlier in Brad’s career, he spent almost a decade in Singapore and Hong Kong as an Investment Manager with MM Worms & Cie, a client job manager at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, a VP with Arthur D. Little and an associate with Schroders. Brad has an MBA from the London Business School and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
